Editing Minor Infractions
Then click the Minor Infractions tab at the top of the window.
The Edit Minor Fractions window will appear. It looks like this:
Remember, you can always check the Help Box and then move your mouse pointer over objects in the window to learn more about what you see on the screen.
In the large white frame will appear each of your current infractions. First there is the letter or number that you use when your enter minor infractions. If some of your minor infractions are identical to your regular infractions you might use numbers instead of letters. If you do this and are accidently entering the items on the wrong window (they look the same), your software will warn you that you are using an invallid code.
After the code letter or number, comes the number of demerits that have been assigned this item. Finally you see the text that appears in all the various reports.
Adding New Minor Infractions
To add new items to this list simply click thebutton and make your entries at the bottom. Your software will automatically give you the first unused letter of the alphabet for the code and discplay a number of demerits. You can change either of these. Simply click in either box and touch the letter or number that you want. You do not need to first delete what is there.
Rules for Your Codes:
- You are not restricted to letters of the alphabet. Almost any printable character can be used for code.
- The codes are not case sensitive which means that f and F are seen as the same code.
- No two infractions can have the same code.
Rules for Demerits:
- You must enter a number in this box.
- It must be a single digit number.
- Any number from 0 to 9 is vallid.
Rules for the text:
- What you enter here is exactly what appears on the reports.
- You are limited in the length of the text by what can appear on a single line in print.
- If your description is too long, part of it will be truncated in your reports.
Changing an entry
To change an entry, first click on the item in the list and then you can change the number of demerits or the text in the boxes at the bottom.
If you want to make many changes, you will find it much easier to remove your items first and then re-add them as described above.
Please note: Changes you make here are retroactive. That means that if you were to change an item that was "Arrive to class on time" to "Bring a signature from home" all entries that you have made previously for arriving to class will be changed.
It may be better to add the new item and leave the old one here even if you do not intend to use it any more.
Removing an item
To remove an item, click on the item in the list and then click thebutton.
